Dear Adventurer
August has been a scorcher and progress on Tidefall has been on fire! 🔥
As we look towards a public demo, we want to unveil the trailer for Tidefall’s UI, so you can get a flavour of what it’ll be like journeying through the game, solo or with your party.
But what’s more, we want to introduce you to some of the monsters that await you in Ebstone, the starting region for the demo. Many of you may know about the Ebstone Troll wreaking havoc on farms and livelihoods, stealing away the sheep and children in the night, and roaring across the storm-blasted hills. But what about the kobolds that follow it? Or the skeletal soldiers, stalking the Ebstone Forest? And beneath your feet, squirming through the Underways, lurks an ancient foe who is just as furious about that damn Troll as the villagers are…
As ever, our fantastic community continues to help us to shape the unravelling world hidden within the Storm. As with any adventure unknown and terrifying creatures are a huge part of the experience, and last month we unveiled the winner of our community creature competition, which you can read about here.
But before the beasties, let’s turn to Tidefall’s beauty.
Revealed: Tidefall Gameplay

What you’ve just watched is Tidefall’s UI. This has been a long time coming, and it was important to us we get this right.
We’ve spent many months cultivating Tidefall’s aesthetic, through the art style in animated backgrounds and NPC profiles, to the lore underpinning the symbology and fashions – plus, of course, all the variations that come with that. We hope that by watching this you can take away a realistic idea of what is coming for you in the public demo.
That all said, if you see something you’d tweak or have an idea you’d like to pitch, or you just know your skillset would be invaluable – and you want to get involved – we are keen to hear from you! Visit our careers page here.
The villains of Ebstone
Pretty pictures are all well and good, but this is a narrative, true RPG experience – and that means we want you to be able to fight, flee from, or befriend(?) some cool and crazy creatures.

The wraith of ebstone

Aching on the edge of town stands an ancient manor, Stonegrave. This is a testament to a different past, a deeper history. And within holds deeper secrets…
Five eerie plinths stand in a forgotten ballroom, smothered by dust. Arrange these in the right way, and you’ll unravel secrets that the oldest villagers are not keen to talk about: a lynching, a storm, and the brutal end of the local manor lord.
Buried somewhere in here is a trinket that may just help you in your fight against more recent threats, too… if you can survive the ghastly curse all others have chosen to ignore.
Plus, if all this doesn’t deter you, then earn enough to buy the manor.
The Lindwyrm Broodmother

Long before industry came to Ebstone, this frontier market town served the fishing communities studding the coast beyond the hills. Those hills were dangerous: besides the native kobolds, it was said serpents could vanish and appear to snare unwitting travellers or unprepared heroes. This made life difficult, and the local manor lords would rarely leave Stonegrave to offer condolences, let alone organise his guard to do a thing about it.
One hero, whose statue still sits in the village shrine, was Godeca. She taught herself a draconic language and used her tongue to befriend a lindwyrm runt. As it grew with her, the titanic size attracted many kobold worshippers. When tensions rose, Godeca and the lindwyrm were able to broker good relations between human settler and kobold natives, and trade prospered just as both communities enjoyed safety.
With the industrial boom, these tales became myth. Rooted out by generations of mining, lindwyrm numbers are much reduced, and the kobolds have turned heretic, worshipping a new living god: the Ebstone Troll. Still, the ancient lindywrm are rumoured to operate through the Underways, and let this be a warning to any who hear the quarrymen say a clutch of gems is laid deep in the millpond….
