December 2025 Newsletter

Dear Adventurer

Welcome to the last newsletter of 2025. We can hardly believe it!

The year has flashed by. Last month has been a rollercoaster since we opened up Tidefall, our flagship Living World RPG, to a few early playtesters. It’s been fascinating to see what they’re getting up to in Ebstone, and we’re ever grateful for their feedback (and the add-ons they’ve made!). But as the nights draw long and the winds bring a chill, we wanted to take the time to reflect on the strides we’ve taken alongside our community in bringing Tidefall to life.

There’s so much to cover. From how the world and the team have grown, to the innovations in technology, to the funny and insightful feedback from our community in competitions, quirky playthroughs, and contributions to the future.

And after all that, we’ll tease our plans for the new year: expect more of the world to explore, more characters to meet, monsters to slay, quests to complete, and most importantly, more people playing the game!

Notes from Ebstone

The numbers paint a picture of what we’ve seen: long, detailed journeys as players immersive themselves in Tidefall and let the world, its characters, art, and music embrace them.

Shoutout to Nieuchwytny on Discord!

We’ve loved playing with your fantastic add-on, enhancing our experience. You can get it too in the Discord channel dedicated to Community Add-Ons. Your hard work shows the dedication in our community and we wanted to let you know how grateful we are. Thank you for the support!

We aren’t done with playtesting just yet!

If you want to get involved but haven’t yet had the chance, keep an eye on your emails! Our second wave is expected to open in March 2026.

A Growing Team of Innovators

Over 2025, Infinity Fiction has grown and the team is buzzing with energy. Apart from getting the game in your hands, there have been some major highlights for us. From music and ambience to our pioneering location system, new adventures and enemies, to our UI trailer, it’s been gratifying to see this hard work and progress come to life. We’ve particularly enjoyed our creature and character competitions. Expect more of those in the new year!

When we kicked of 2025, our starting region, Ebstone, was much more barebones. The smugglers were flavour text, there was no sign of lindwyrms, Stonegrave Manor was an easter egg test, and the world map was murky at best. Long sessions polishing and iterating the tech have worked alongside writer deep-dives into the obscure lore of far-flung shipping guilds and the mythic history of the blitspar crystals. The game has been shown off everywhere from Discord to expos and conferences, and we’re thriving off that feedback.

And just as the game was much smaller, so too was the team. We’ve always got our eye on the best talent – we have to to make sure we build the best game we can! Through new engineers, expanding the writers’ room, and nabbing a great composer, the team has grown and is hungrier than ever. And thanks to some incredible advisors, we’ve working on cracking this new frontier in videogames, technology, and audiovisual entertainment.

We wanted to thank our community for all the support we’ve had so far on this wild adventure. You give us the support and the confidence we grow from to keep going. Here’s to an exciting new year!

As always, if you like something, hated it, or just wanted to chat, hop on to Discord and fire away!

A Whole Province to Explore

Between crackling hearthfires and mugs of deep winter ale, we’re still brimming with ideas and are working hard and bringing those to life for 2026.

Even though players are already enjoying tens of hours in our starting region, Ebstone, our aims go far beyond those Stormy horizons. The new year will bring new content, and the first on our list is the brutal capital of the Southern Province, Sarnath.

But the Southern Province is a bigger place than that ancient, grim city. From the flybitten Fellmarch swamps to the Stoutswale Moor and Faesond Archipelago, right to the mystery at the heart of the Screaming Wastes, soon enough Gral the Mountain will be tracking well beyond the borders of the Snarling Coast and the Ebstone Forest, to uncover deeper secrets and meet the powerful players shaping this Storm-swallowed island.

So, stay tuned!
